Solid Surface Windowsills

“The continuing demand for our solid surface products have exceeded our expectations,” said Dino Longo, president of  Siltech® Manufacturing, Inc. “Our market is continuing to expand, which we believe will further boost demand for the product.”  “The wide recognition of the products unique qualities plus growing markets prompted the registration of the  Siltech® name.

Established in 1998, the company began in a market primarily focused on Southwest Florida, but quickly grew as familiarity with the Siltech® profiled windowsill spread. In 2004, markets stretched from the Naples area to Tampa, in Central Florida in the Lakeland and Orlando areas, and on Florida’s east coast from Miami-Dade to Jacksonville.

“We have essentially succeeded in “Changing the Industry Standard” ™ for window openings to acrylic solid surface windowsills,’’ Longo said. In addition to creating the solid surface windowsill, Siltech®has added  and wall caps to their list of products offered. Where available, Siltech® provides installation services for all their products. “The installation and service side of our business has been a huge key to our success”

“It’s one-stop shopping for the builders,” Longo said. “Not only is solid surface a better quality product for the consumer, but also for the builder as the convenience of making one call for materials and installation makes it easier to schedule, plus takes days off construction schedules.” “For those areas not yet available for our installation services, we will drop ship the materials. We can assist those in need of installation instructions including types of tools and setting materials required; through our website, email or by phone.”

In addition to the traditional square edge, Siltech® offers seven other profiled edges, four of which are a one inch profiled edge. “Home Builders are now using our windowsills to dress up a plain window opening by adding tabs and profiled edges and taking wood molding to create a picture frame effect. Commercial Builders are using our products in a number of other areas including window seats, shower curbs, flood wall caps, storefront applications as well as windows. Interior Designers love our product because of the neutral colors we offer. The sills blend well with wood molding and trim,” Longo said. “The profiled edge adds a custom feel, is a benefit to the consumer and a selling point for the builder. It is 100 percent acrylic with no polyester resins, so it does not yellow in sunlight, it doesn’t stain, it is scratch resistant, and it can be seamed to custom lengths with no joints.”.
